So long Michael...
I am not sick of the public grieving over Michael's death: the hysteria around Jade Goody's death angered me and did make me cringe a lot more. The guy was rotten with talent: now he is gone, this unique talent has gone too. People are mourning this loss.
Michael Jackson enjoyed what he was doing from an early age: it was felt in his music, in his dancing, even as a wee kid. What he didn't like was the beatings at the hands of his abusive father.
I will remember Michael Jackson as someone who brought a lot of joy and tried to convey a message of unity and fraternity among people, regardless of their skin colour or race.
As a last word, the allegations of child molestation made against him were attempts at extracting money from someone who was also horribly insecure and vulnerable. The stress he was put under at the time may have contributed to his early death.
